Hailing from southern Santa Cruz County, Erika Rosendale, aka Miss Teal, drew inspiration from comic books, which would help to develop her painting style. Her unique style blends elements of animals, movement, and unique characters creating vibrant pieces that feel like they might come to life at any moment. This distinctive approach has earned her the label of “elemental surrealism.”
Before diving into mural work, Miss Teal spent over a decade as a scenic artist and stage manager for theater and festivals. Her passion for nature and the arts is further demonstrated through her involvement with Made Fresh Crew, where she led ground operations for the Seawall Artists for Ocean project in collaboration with the Pangeaseed Foundation, focusing on ocean stewardship and conservation.
