  • Prospect Theater Project 1218 K Street Modesto, CA, 95354 United States (map)

PTP'S Artist Lab is happy to host a series of Playwriting Workshops this April!  There are four workshops to choose from, each with a different focus.  Whether you take one, a couple, or all four, you'll gain valuable insights to hone your script writing abilities.  Writers of all experiences levels are welcome!

PLAYWRITING WORKSHOP #1 "Identity, Aesthetic, & Intrigue: Creating Your Signature"
INSTRUCTOR: Summer Krafft

DATE: Thursday, April 3
TIME: 6:30pm-8:30pm
PLACE: PTP Artist Lab, 1218 K St, Modesto
PRICE: $20 ($10 for students with ID)

DESCRIPTION: In this 2 hour workshop, we will examine the language we already gravitate towards, see what it can tell us we're doing, see what we want it to do more effectively, and identify what makes us truly distinct as the writers we are. By the end of this workshop, writers will have a better idea of what's working for them and be able to put that into a compelling bio to use on their next publication or project.

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Summer Krafft is a Modesto-based writer and artist. In 2013, she founded the long-running Poetry Night at Queen Bean, which she also hosted for five years. Onstage, her work has been seen locally as part of fundraisers, workshops, and as mainstage productions, most notably Her Body and The Fall, Bad Seed: An Album Come Alive, Sanity Dance, and Collecting the Echoes. In print, her work can be seen in Everyday Feminism, Nailed! Magazine, Penumbra, The Manifeststation, The ModestoView, and RoleReboot. She is also a spoken word performer, dramaturg, actor, teaching artist, stage manager, and editor. Her work tends to deal with themes of love, rage, forgiveness, and the body.
