The highly anticipated and most prestigious poetry slam competition in California is back! The ILL LIST is an entertaining and inspiring night of performance poetry that has sold out every year, so don’t wait to get tickets!
By invitation only, the ILL LIST features a prestigious line-up of renowned spoken word artists, national and international slam poetry champions, many having appeared on HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, Verses & Flow, NPR’s Snap Judgment, Button Poetry, and elsewhere in the media. Through three rounds of original spoken word poetry, witness poets match metaphors and battle rhyme for rhyme on their quest for $1,500 in cash prizes and the right to be crowned “ILL LIST Champion.”
Randomly selected judges from the audience will award points to poets based on the strength of their poems and the quality of their performance. Audience participation is essential. Laughter, tears, applause, and inspiration are sure to be had by all who attend this world-class literary boxing match brought to you by the Modesto Artists Movement. Come be inspired!
