Here’s a sneak peak at the vendor instructions page, just so you know what things look like on the flip side if there’s a perfect space just for you this year:

VENDOR INSTRUCTIONS

SET-UP:

●  Set up starts at 9:00 a.m. Please do not arrive earlier than this.

●  Your whole setup, including yourself, needs to fit in your 10’x4’ space - the spaces are right next to each other,

so give yourself room to move around your space as well.

●  Your space will be marked with blue tape and your business name. Please pull up the tape and throw away trash at the end of the night.

●  Set up is always a bit of a rush; there are no dedicated parking spots in front of most locations. Please be patient and be prepared to cart your goods in with a wagon or boxes.
●  You can use an extension cord to get to an outlet if there is one nearby and it doesn’t cross walking paths. However, please plan on battery-powered lights and fans if needed for your setup, as we can’t guarantee power access.

●  Vendors may not share spaces with other vendors unless previously discussed and coordinated with the DoMo Shop team. Please keep your spaces clean and orderly.

EVENT TIPS & ADDITIONAL INFO:

●  We recommend having a card reader like Square, PayPal, and/or Venmo to accept card payments. Please be prepared prior to your arrival with your own bank. Cash transactions will necessitate sufficient denominations for distributing change. We do not want to disturb surrounding businesses or other vendors with requests to make change. Some locations have wifi, but please plan on using cellular data as a backup if wifi is down or slow.

●  Some locations can be a little cold or warm, depending on the weather and heating systems. Many experienced vendors prepare for both with warm clothes and also a small battery-operated fan.

● We are working on a non-profit donation-based gift wrap booth this year. Stay tuned for the location to be determined soon.

●  Please be respectful of our host locations and fellow vendors. The spaces can be tight! Please limit the number of people in your booth area and do not spill over into your neighbors’ space. Please do not hang anything (even temporary tape or hooks) on walls, and be mindful of anything the business has on the walls while you are setting up.

●  Due to permits, we can not have anyone handing out food samples or gifts. Also, no live animals (except service animals) inside.

●  We recommend staging a booth at your home so you know exactly how much space you have to work with and to expedite setting the day of DoMo Shop.

LOAD-OUT:

  • Teardown and load-out may not begin before the end of the event at 6 pm.

  • Please try to be done tearing down within 45 minutes after the end of the event, with a maximum timeframe of 1 hour.

  • Make sure your booth space is clean and garbage-free. If any painter’s tape or paper material was used to mark your space, please remove and throw away.

  • Please do your best to control debris and properly dispose of waste. Areas that are poorly maintained or create trash issues throughout the event will be judged accordingly in consideration of future admission.

LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL:

Electrical needs should be met internally with battery-operated equipment where possible. Generators are not allowed. Please consider all avenues internally before making a request for accommodations through public space.

PHOTOGRAPHY:

Vendors and performers agree to allow photography and video of their work taken by the DoMo Shop team for promotional purposes.

LICENSING:

You may purchase coverage in lieu of a business license through the DoMo Shop team for $10. In order to waive this charge, you must possess and provide your own City of Modesto business license. 

CANCELLATIONS:

Refunds will not be issued without at least 72 hours prior notice. There are several fees and processes associated with each vendor’s space that have already been paid by this point, and we can neither absorb those costs nor forward them to another month. DoMo Shop is a rain-or-shine event. Any cancellations caused by DoMo Shop event production will yield a full vendor refund.
